You may be lucky to see a film in 'The Screen Machine' which comes at regular intervals to the Leisure Centre. The screen machine is Britain's only eighty-seat, fully air-conditioned mobile cinema.

Visitors are made very welcome at the lovely 9-hole golf course overlooking Lochbroom. What better location for the keen golfer?

The ferry to Stornoway offers the chance of a unique day trip over the Minch to the Isle of Lewis and there are various other boat trips to Isle Martin and the Summer Isles. For the thrill seeker there is a 2 hour powerboat trip on a 12 seater RIB with Seascape or for those looking for a comfortable lounge with refreshment area then the Summer Queen would be the boat for you.

Or bring your own boat, launch at Ullapool or Ardmair and cruise around the various isles. In a canoe you can cross the short stretch of water from Ardmair to Isle Martin. This is an ideal area for fishing, diving or for gathering mussels or winkles.

There is a thriving music and arts scene in the village - held in the pubs, village hall or McPhail Centre. Weekly during the summer the local pipe band and dancers play and perform on the calmac car park. Ullapool also has the Feis Roy in May, the Loopallu Music Festival in September, and a Guitar Festival in October. Don't miss the Rotary summer fete 'Round the Pier Day' in July or 'The Three Legged Fancy Dress Pub Quiz Race' in August.

You will always find something to do!

Fishing and Mooring

Both are available by arrangement.

There is a 'running mooring' at Ardmair which is suitable for a small boat and is the ideal location to moor your craft ready for exploring the coast.

Fishing is available either from the sandy shores or with the use of a boat on Loch Luragainn, brown trout are the likely catch!
