Ullapool is just 55 miles north-west of Inverness by road. It is a fine drive passing beautiful scenery, lochs, rivers and hills. Although it is relatively close to Inverness, the journey over gives a sense of remote wilderness that is quite breathtaking. The first view of the village is from a distance, lying out on the shore of the sea-loch, Loch Broom .
The road to take from Inverness is the A9, then the A835 (at the Tore roundabout) all the way to Ullapool.
