Looking forward to Spring

January had some wild and windy weather, hope everyone battened down the hatches and didn't experience any damage. Its always noticable from 3rd week of January the days start to lighten and lenghten, gardens are showing some life and we're all looking forward to Spring coming - less covid restrictions too and guests arriving for holidays in Ullapool.

We've been very busy with bookings, so if you're thinking about your holidays please reserve before we're full. Don't forget you can make a 'provisional' booking and you have 4 days to pay your deposit, we hope you won't change your mind but if you do there is no obligation.

Joining us this year are more lovely holiday homes, a rural cottage at Elphin called Starlings Nest and Kelvin Cottage a beautifully restored house in the centre of Ullapool, and we've been asked to view at a Shepherds Hut.

Exciting news for those who have stayed at Strath Cottage before, the renovations are well under way, builders have demolished and are rebuilding the rear of the property, we have the floor plans and will be adding to Strath Cottage webpage soon, the house is expected to reopen late summer with a stylish contemporary new look.

Hallival one of our guests favourite cottages on West Shore Street, Ullapool which has folk returning year after year. Guests will be in for a lovely surprise - the house has had a make over, redecorated throughout, new furniture, flooring, curtains and soft furnishings. We're taking photos for the website and we think you'll like the new fresh look and superb local art.

More exciting news - we're having a new website built! We've loved this website - thanks to Brian from UpandRunning Websites who has looked after us very well for many years. A few more weeks and we'll launch the new version (that will look a little like this one) but with the aim of making it even more user friendly with improved search facilities. We hope you'll like it and will welcome your feedback.

There is lots to do at this time of the year - the holiday homes are being spring cleaned, chimneys swept, boilers serviced, gas safe certified, maintenance surveys and redecoration. Lots goes on in the background before we welcome guests again. Its been a little quieter in January so allows time to have the holiday homes spruced up, guests are now arriving back to Ullapool and we're looking forward to a seeing you for another busy holiday year.
