Nestled in the small crofting hamlet of Ardindrean on the western shore of Loch Broom, Holly Grove is a charming, detached self-catering holiday home, approximately 11 miles south of the picturesque fishing village of Ullapool. Set in an elevated position, the house enjoys stunning views across the loch from many of its rooms, offering a wonderful setting for a relaxing Highland escape.
Enter through the porch into the well-equipped, farmhouse-style kitchen and dining area, a welcoming space with a traditional AGA that brings warmth and character to the heart of the home. After a day exploring the Highlands, settle down in the comfortable sitting room, with its sofa, armchairs, electric-style fire and selection of original artwork.
In the middle of the house, a hallway leads to the conservatory – a lovely spot to enjoy your morning coffee, unwind with an evening glass of wine or simply sit back and admire the peaceful surroundings.
Next door, the snug provides a versatile space for all ages. With a large selection of books, games, a card table and a day bed, it is ideal for a quiet afternoon with a good book or a place for children and teenagers to relax and enjoy their own space.
Upstairs, two inviting bedrooms overlook the loch, allowing you to wake up to beautiful Highland views. The twin bedroom also benefits from its own wash-hand basin, while a separate toilet and wash-hand basin between the bedrooms provide added convenience.
On the ground floor, a shower room features a large walk-in shower, wash-hand basin and toilet. Next door is the utility room, an ideal place to dry coats or boots.
The day bed in the snug can also be made up as a single bed by prior arrangement when booking. This may be particularly useful for guests who would prefer to sleep on the ground floor. Please note that the house has a steep driveway, so access arrangements should be discussed in advance if this option is required.
Holly Grove is perfectly placed for discovering the spectacular scenery of Wester Ross, with its magnificent mountains, peaceful lochs, rugged coastline and quiet Highland roads. Ullapool is within easy reach for shops, restaurants, cafés and the ferry to Stornoway on the Isle of Lewis.
Nearby Clachan Church holds a poignant place in local history, associated with some of the early waves of Scottish emigrants who departed for North America. It is a reminder of the area's rich crofting heritage and the lives shaped by this remarkable landscape.
The quiet, single-track road through Ardindrean is shared with local wildlife and farm animals, including deer and sheep. Here, life moves at a gentler pace, surrounded by the tranquillity of the countryside and the ever-changing views across Loch Broom.
Whether you are exploring the North West Highlands, discovering local history, enjoying scenic drives or simply looking for somewhere to escape the everyday, Holly Grove offers a cosy and welcoming base.
Return after a day outdoors to the warmth and character of the farmhouse kitchen, put your feet up beside the fire and enjoy the peace and quiet of this special corner of Scotland.
Holly Grove is the perfect place to slow down, soak up the views and experience the simple pleasures of a Highland holiday.
