Kildonan House was built around 1900 by 'Kenny the Drover' Great Grandfather of the owner, whose father’s family originated from Isle Martin, near Ardmair.
This perfect house has been a family home but is now a spectacular holiday home. Furnished and equipped to a high standard and tastefully decorated in soft Farrow and Ball colours, refurbished bathrooms, contemporary beds and classic linen make this an ideal retreat for groups, friends and family holidays or those who require spacious surroundings. It’s a great base for friends who may come to climb the many Munros and Corbetts nearby.
Kildonan House sits comfortably in leafy Market Street, Ullapool. The wide tree-lined quiet street with pavements and grassed house fronts give the area a feeling of village park. In spring when the trees are in blossom the street is quite spectacular.
With three windows facing the garden the well-appointed kitchen is a spacious, light room. Extremely well equipped with crockery & glasses and a dining table that can seat 8 persons, this area provides an excellent space for food preparation and dining.
The kitchen door to garden takes you to the decked patio and offers a practical and stylish spot for alfresco dining. The light-filled sitting room with sofa and armchairs ensures a relaxed place after a day exploring. Whether you are watching TV, reading books or planning the next day, this is the place to do it! A second reception room 'The Den' has a mix of old and new furniture which blends well and adds to the charm. With DVD player maybe it’s a place for younger members of the family to have their own space.
On the first floor are two king size bedrooms, and one floor up looking over Ullapool, are two well-appointed attic rooms, both with twin beds. Between the two bedrooms is a useful area for storing your suitcases.
For guests' convenience there are two family bathrooms. A ground floor spacious family bathroom with bath and electric shower. The first floor has a shower room with electric shower. Both have toilets and wash basins. There is also a small ensuite shower room in one of the king bedrooms.
The enclosed garden with large decked area and built-in seating is a great place for sun worshippers with grassed area, flower beds and patio pots. What better place to spend the long summer evenings? A lockable garden gate ensures a safe area for children or dogs.
The wonderful west coast offers all levels of walking and climbing; it has a wealth of pursuits from golf to fishing and is a magnificent area for photography. All in all, this very special area of Scotland is here for you to enjoy and Kildonan House is the place to be based.
