Starlings Nest is a cosy cottage conveniently situated on the NC500 route just 15 miles from the ferry terminal in Ullapool and 20 miles south of Lochinver.
Lovingly refurbished keeping the character of the white washed stone cottage but with today’s conveniences makes this a wonderful place to stay, ideal for exploring further north and the wonderful sandy beaches and mountains.
Entering the cottage there is an area for boots and coats, the kitchen and shower room are both situated off the hall. Everything you’re likely to need while on holiday can be found in the kitchen which is neat and compact but perfectly formed. Benefiting from underfloor heating the shower room is next to the kitchen and has an electric shower.
The sunny sitting room has a large comfy sofa facing the wood burning stove – the dresser, rugs, lamps and books give a cosy highland feel and you’ll find this a welcome cottage to come home to. From the sitting room head through to the dining room and picture yourself sitting with a glass of wine or dining with views to mountains and moorland watching sunsets, what better way to spend an evening?
Upstairs are two pretty bedrooms a double and twin both with coombed ceilings, lovely throws and snug cushions. The space is ideal for couples, 2 adults and 2 children or 3 adults; Starlings Nest also welcomes 1 medium dog.
Fenced and gated the cottage garden has plenty of space for private off road parking. A supply of logs for your wood burning stove and the outside fire pit are stored at the end of the cottage.
The area is rich in wildlife with red deer and otters not far from the house and sightings of eagle are often seen here in the heart of the Highlands. We’re sure you’ll find this lovely cottage will suit you just fine.
